Categories:

Angst

Explores the mental anguish of the characters.

AU-Alternate Universe

Stories that either wildly deviate wildly from canon or place the characters in a completely different scenario

Challenge Entry

Something written to enter into a challenge where specific requirements must be met

Character Study

Writing that attempts to look at what makes a character actually tick, ie what they think and feel

Crack!fic

Stories that are just completely out there, there are no rules in crack!fic, you can be as weird as you want to be

Drabble

A drabble is technically a writing piece of 100 words. For this website, anything under 500 words may be classified as a drabble.

Drama

Stories with strong emotion and action.

Episode Related

Something directly related to a particular episode of the show.

Established Relationship

Exactly that – story contains a relationship that already exists, basically indicates that the story won't be a “how we fell in love” tale.

First Time

Used when the idea that the first time a pairing has sex is significant to the story.

Fluff

A lighthearted, upbeat story

Friendship

Explores the friendship between characters.

Genderbend

A story in which a characters normal gender is swapped for the opposite. May include stories where a character starts out as one gender and gets transformed into the other, or it may be a story exploring the possibilities if a character had been born the opposite gender from canon.

Holiday

A story centered around a particular holiday.

Humor

Stories that may be considered funny, comic, or amusing.

Hurt/Comfort

Explores stories that have a nurturing aspect to them. Typically one character is either physically ill/injured or emotionally stressed and another character takes care of them in some fashion.

Kink/BDsM

Stories that contain unusual or eccentric sexual preferences and/or explore the Bondage, Dominance/submission, Masochism lifestyle.

Parody

Not to be taken seriously, it's satire.

Polyamory/Polyandry

Explores the ideas of multi-partner romantic involvement (Polyandry specifically is the concept of a woman having multiple husbands). Not to be confused with multi-partner sex, or open relationships.

Prompt Response

Something written based off of an idea/word/phrase given to the author.

PWP – Smut

Stories that are sexually explicit in nature without necessarily any sort of indepth plot (PWP= Porn Without Plot or Plot What Plot depending on interpretation)

Romance

Stories that contain love and explores those feelings between the characters.

Slave!fic

Plot contains human slavery in some form, may be institutional, voluntary, or involuntary.

Supernatural/Arcane

Explores things that are beyond the natural world (ie angels, demons, vampires, ghosts, et cetera).

Contains unusual or eccentric sexual preferences.

Mature Themes

Contains themes that are best comprehended by adults.

Mpreg

Contains a male pregnancy plot.

Multi-partner sex

Contains sex between three or more people simultaneously, will contain same-sex sexual partners.

Non-con

Contains non-consensual sexual themes.

Rape

Contains graphic descriptions of forced copulation.

Torture

Contains graphic themes of involuntary pain infliction, typically used as punishment or as a means to gain information.

Violence

Contains graphic descriptions of violence (ie domestic disputes, criminal behavior, et cetera)
